After 10 years of existence, probably not many people know that COLLAPSE! is the second most popular casual game franchise of all time, second only to that jewel game. That can be understandable since it's addictive gameplay really sneaks up on you, and that's no different than with this brand new iteration.

COLLAPSE!, as it's simply called, is a matching game where you tap on like-colored blocks to remove them, that's if they are grouped in sets of three or more. As the remaining blocks collapse on each other, more groups are created and thus, the fun continues. This is the classic form of the game, but new styles have been created, such as puzzle, strategy, panic attack and relapse, and they are all present here in both Quest and Quick Game modes.

Quest is an adventure mode held over from previous versions, but two new dimensions have been added that make the game more satisfying. First, you walk around the world and select levels using an avatar that you can customize with many different costumes. The costumes really don't add much to the game play, though it would have been nice if that was the case, but at least it adds a level of cuteness to the game. The second inclusion, is that of Boss characters to challenge in every area. These battles are quite engaging and offer a different level of excitement, and hopefully they'll implement live head-to-head action sometime in the future because if these battles are a taste of what can occur when two players go at it, then lookout!

While the Quest mode offers over 70 levels of varied COLLAPSE! challenges, you can play to your heart's content in Quick Game. The same variations are offered here, but in continuous levels that can be played in short spurts.

A major item of note is that COLLAPSE! has been release on multiple gaming platforms including for PC and Facebook. Because of this, you can unlock codes in each version to use in the others, and that's great. Of course, if you're only interested in the mobile version, then you're definitely going to win big anyhow by downloading this one. And if you hurry, you can get it at a great price of $0.99 during the Winter sale on the App store. The price of the traditional mobile version might vary, but it's still certainly worth it.
